The Planet Project
Growing a Planetary Movement
For Social Justice and Environmental Stewardship
It’s 3:23 in the morning
and I’m awake
because my great great grandchildren
won’t let me sleep
my great great grandchildren
ask me in dreams
what did you do while the planet was plundered?
what did you do when the earth was unraveling?
surely you did something
when the seasons started failing?
as the mammals, reptiles, and birds were all dying?
did you fill the streets with protest
when democracy was stolen?
what did you do
once
you
knew?

We are at a turning point
Industrial civilization now impacts every corner of our planet. Our oceans are filling with plastic, our rivers and lakes with toxins, our fields with soil-depleting chemicals, and our brains with marketing messages; the polar ice is melting as the planet warms, while around the world authoritarians seek power, and American democracy is corrupted by money. Many of us, especially young people, know that our present civilizational model is not sustainable. Young people know their future is bleak if we continue with business as usual; and too many of us have lost hope and given up because the levers of power seem to be in the hands of big corporations and people with lots of money.
But a greater power lies in numbers. A major change can happen if large numbers of us join together around the shared vision of a civilization that works for everyone and a culture that honors our Planet: All Beings, One Planet. We can take real actions together that are aligned with this vision – actions like conscious buying and consuming, boycotting harmful products and practices, and voting.
On a large scale, humanity must turn in a new direction through a shift in culture and consciousness, to adopt and promote ways of life that take into account the wellbeing of the whole planet, all people, and all living beings. We must build a Planetary Culture, and this change can happen very rapidly in today’s world of social media and digital technology.

What is the Planet Project?
Planet is a symbol we use to represent the wholeness and interconnectedness of all people and the living planetary systems. All Beings, One Planet expresses this whole-systems worldview.
The Planet Project brings together people and organizations from everywhere who share a planetary perspective, and who want to work together to co-create a positive future in which all people can thrive and contribute, while existing in harmony with the living planetary systems. This is the core vision of the Planet Project: a future with social justice and environmental stewardship. As the Planet Project grows into a connected global movement it can become a major catalyzing force for social and cultural change that will alter the trajectory of humans on Earth.
The Planet Project Stewardship Entity (SE), is a non-profit organization that supports and stewards the Planet Project. This includes building a digital platform that serves as a venue and access point for positive culture that uplifts and inspires people and helps spread the planetary perspective. Many people and organizations already do excellent work to promote social justice or environmental stewardship, and we aim to unify, support, and amplify that work, primarily through this digital platform.
